T42 ethernet controller

Hi,

I need help. My ethernet controller in T42 (model 2373-cug) doesn't work. I have windows xp and proper drivers. When I plug a cable into my card it try to connect and after that it crashes my system that only hard reset helps. When I turn it off (in windows) everything is fine. When it's on, but nothing is connected, it behaves like some cable was in and again, it crashes my system.

What is happened? How I can solve this?

Have you tried uninstalling the device in device manager, then scanning for hardware changes? (Instead of turning off)

Yes, and it didn't help.
