SL7SM Procesor for T42 ?

Hi, I'm afraid I already know the answer, but having assumed already the "it will NOT", I ask for the case any one would have the experience and could say "YES it will", ven if it is "provided you do...." ....

As some of you already know, I own a T42 2373-F2G at 1.7GHz that I'm trying to upgrade. I'm trying to find a Pentium 755 SL7EM 2.0GHz, but it is being a dificult task to find it at a fairly "not high" price.

What I'm very easily finding is Pentium M 760 SL7SM also 2.0GHz, but at an FSB of 533, so, I'm not sure the laptop clocking will permit the SL7SM to achieve the target speed. And the reading of several posts in this forum seems to me that it will not.

Am I (unfortunately ) right? Should I stay looking for an affordable SL7EM or do I have any opportunnity of putting a SL7SM and having it correctly working at 2.0GHz.

The 760 will run at 1.5GHz in a T42 (2.0 * 400 / 533). Don't think that's what you want! What's the problem finding a 755?

sktn77a, thanks, you gave me the answer I was afraid to get.

Talking about 755 (SL7EM), most of the ones I find in eBay or Amazon are rather expensive (usually more than 110USD) or not being shipped to Spain.

I found one of them but in the last minute someone bidded 3USD more than I did.
