I recently replaced a failing hard drive on my T42. I purchased Norton Ghost 9.0 to backup and restore my data prior to the swap. I cloned both the IBM SERVICE and PRELOAD partitions using Ghost. After restoring both partitions the computer booted up fine, but when I tested the Service partition via the Access IBM Button, I got the message "NTLDR not found" and couldn't get the computer to boot into the PRELOAD partition anymore. So I started over deleting both partitions (using Ghost) and restored only the PRELOAD partition. I don't really need the RR program with Ghost 9.0 (comes with its own bootable recovery CD--I also received the 7 preload CDs from IBM with my new hard drive). So my question is, how can I disable the Access IBM Button from booting into the now non-existant Service partition at startup? When I press it (don't ask me why I did it, but it only takes about 50 to reinstall via Ghost), I get the message "Operating System Not Found". It's not fatal, as the computer then boots into the Preload partition after pressing alt-ctl-del, but I would just like to disable the whole feature since the RR software is no longer present on the disk.
Thanks, Steve.
