I need some help please.
Over the past couple of weeks when i start my Thinkpad T42 i get an error message that "File or Folder C:/IBMSHARE is corrupt and not readable please run chkdsk utility".
This error message occurs after turning on the computer when windows starts until the login screen.
I click ok and login as usual.
Then, after widows is all finished loading, i get an error message at the bottom right side of the screen that "file javaw.exe is corrupt please run chkdsk utility".
I run the chkdsk utility - it does some fixing and then i just use the computer as usual.
However, this issue repeats itself every time i turn on the computer and its annoying/scary as i am not sure if it signals the computer is dying....
Important to note: when i try to click on that folder in windows explorer, i can not get into it as it says folder is corrupt.
I also have a T61 but i dont see that folder on the T61 (thought i could just copy folder from T61 to the T42, but that not gonna work....
I saw a similar post from 2004 but there is no resultion to that.
Can some one please help me ho to fix this?
I am running windows XP. All updates are up to date.
Please let me know if you need more info on the computer.
Thank you very much.
