blinking battery led

I bought a new\used battery from ebay, it only had one cycle on it from 2005. It works and charges fine, and lasts about two hours, just when the battery hits about 50%, it suddenly drops to dead, thinking this means one or two of the cells may be dead.

What concerns me though, the battery light blinks with this battery and not my old one. I remember reading somewhere that this can cause damage. Is this true??

Use the Lenovo battery recall utility and see if it is part of the recall.
