T42p: Fire GL T2 to RM9600

Is it possible to mod a Fire GL T2 to RM 9600 isn't it? Are there any softmods? I would like to buy a T42p but the ATi fire GL T2 is not exactly what i want, because its a little bit slower than a RM 9600...

Then I think you want a T42 with similar specs, as T42p, by definition, must have FireGL T2. A "true" T42p must also have the 60GB 7200rpm hard drive, but they have made some models which have the 40GB or 80GB 5400rpm drives as well, so this one is a bit less important it seems. Other than that, the T2 card is technically the only differentiating factor between T42 and T42p models.

I think you can use a mod to overclock the FireGL T2 to run at the same speed as a standard Radeon 9600. Maybe Omega Drivers?
