Hi All,

How and where do you change the settings for the CD-R/W DVD-ROM to play CDs and DVDs quieter?

Hi James,

I don't seem to see the option under drive properties! Will I see it only if there is a CD in the drive? Please advice.

Ranjit,

For the record, I have the Combo II drive in my T40 set for "Normal" and it appears to have stopped the occasional "takeoff mode" spinning of the drive.

Hi James,

I have the UltraSlim II CD-R/W DVD-ROM drive too. My previous setting was also 'Normal', and I felt the frive was a little noisy. Let me see if the 'Silent' setting will improve the vibration and noise level.
