Wireless Install for T30

#1 Post by wassallj » Sun Jan 23, 2005 12:03 pm

I just bought a T30 which does not have wireless. I have read here that the Intel PRO wireless 2200 B/G adapter will work in the T30 with a program fix. Do I need to put an antenna in the T30 or do all T30's come with antennas? If I need to put antennas in, are they hard to install?

The T30 comes with a pre-installed antenna in the LCD screen, just pop in the chip, run the no-1802 and you are good to go.

There are 2 wires in the compartment, one that says main and the other says aux. Do these get hooked up to the card? Are they wires from the antenna?

Yes, they are the antennae leads and they get connected to the mini-PCI card where indicated.

The HMM always helps with these kind of questions:

Those two wires snap right into the card. Just match the labels and you are good. Though I did notice it required a bit of forece to get the wires snapped on to the card :?

Do you have any idea where I can get the no-1802 program and is it difficult to run it?
