What is the infrared receiver on the bottom left front of T43 for?

Some mobile phones used to connect using IR. You can connect two Thinkpads via IR.

I also recall syncing Palm devices, rather slowly!

Every Treo up through the 750/755 has IR on it. I'm assuming the Centro does as well. Perfect for when you want to sync your phone, don't have a USB cable or Bluetooth, but do have way too much time on your hands :mrgreen:

Rather slowly is an understatement, heh. It does get the job done in a pinch though.

I can easily print to my HP Laserjet 5P with IR, kind of handy.
