Re: Wireless
Gina, First of all welcome to the forum.
Secondly, one has to wonder why you are trying to install a Dell network card? Maybe you could explain your rationale?
If it is merely a PCMCIA card inserted in the socket, then it should be picked up by your operating system. What OS are you using? It helps to put details like this in your signature.
Please get back to us and we'll try to help.

Re: Wireless
Only if it were an Intel card made for a ThinkPad. These originally could only be bought from IBM and were more expensive than an identical card bought from Intel but only the IBM one would be accepted by a ThinkPad. This sux, I know.Gina wrote:Have an IBM Thinkpad t40 tried to install dell wireless network card 1390 but the PC dosent accept it and it asking to be removed can anyone advice if an intel wireless network card would work on T40 or not.
Technically, the only difference between these cards was the PCI-ID which allows the notebook to identify the card supplier. Since this information is stored in an EEPROM chip, it can be changed but this is a broader topic so I won't go into details here.
