Buying LCD Replacement on EBay- Does it matter which model?

Hi all, Not sure if yallz remember but I had an oopsies wit my T42 monitor and it needed to be replaced. I see a bunch of them on Ebay but I'm not sure which ones to get. I definetly know I need to get a complete set with hinges and cover, but I'm not sure if the "type" really matters, I heard theres the XVGA, SVGA, WVGA, etc, and I dont know if either of them will work on my T42 or which ones will work. If this helps, my T42 is a 2374-4Wu model. Also, how do I know which one I had originally before it got smashed? I don't need a super lcd screen bc I dont play hardcore games on it that require displaying super nice colors, but I do watch movies on it and occasional online games. ANy comments will help, thanks.

You can find out the original specs by going to www.ibm.com and entering your machine type. You're missing a letter in there though. It should be in XXXX-XXX format. After you get that info you can put a WTB in the marketplace or search ebay.

Your existing one is the basic 14.1" XGA. That sort is the cheapest and would be a direct replacement. What's wrong with your old one?
