I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong here. I first lost my wirless connection once I close my lid and I thought that was strange even after setting power setting to "nothing or always on" when the lid is closed. But my internet connection is still lost even with my wired connection.
I'll have the lid closed and when I come back 15-30 minutes later there would be no connection.
Any clues guys?
"Losing" Internet Connection after closing lid!
I think that happens to me too, though I'm not sure (I use a monitor timeout so I never need to close the lid unless I move the laptop). I always thought it was because of the antenna - try getting closer to the access point and see if that makes a difference.

Hi guys,
I had asked the same question sometime ago. It turned to be the wireless range issue. My laptop is sitting at the place where the laptop can just bearly reach the wireless router and when the lid is closed, the signal goes weaker significantly and would cause the disconnections.
I did a test by moving the laptop next to my wireless router and with the laptop's lid closed, it's still connected after serveral hours.

I missed that part.Plinkerton wrote:He said "even with my wired connection"...
I don't know what it could be...
Is the laptop set to logoff on screen close (dunno if it's even a setting)? There's a windows setting that disconnects the network on logoff.
Otherwise, I would suggest to the OP to make sure the wireless connection is turned off when he tests it with the wired connection, since Windows often picks one and gets confused when two connections to the same network are detected.
