Hello,
I have a problem with my T43p (15") - there is this error as in %subj% sometimes when booting, the count now is one fine boot and one with this error, it looks like the HDD is not active, as the hdd LED will not blink at all, I tried swapping the HDD but the error remains, I also tried to remove the CMOS battery, which also didn't fix the problem. Propably this is a motherboard error then, which is not so much of a problem as the laptop is still covered under warranty, but I need to know more. I wasn't able to find this error on google or here and I'm not sure what to do, I guess that If I'm going to get it fixed, the error will not show in the service depot, as it is only occasional. Also strange thing is - once it boot it works fine then no matter what. Any suggestions please?

I've seen this a few times and it has always been the drive itself.
Try a brand new HD if you have one sitting around.
Good luck.

Re: T43p - Error 0200: Fixed disk 7
So after a while the situation is worse, it won't boot at all, even after many retries, still getting the same fixed disk error. So next step is a repair - probably a MB swap, as this T43p is luckily still under international warranty till June of 2010. So I'll see, but I have it confirmed from several official sources that they shall repair it here under this warranty, so I hope it will be fine. I'll keep you informed.
UPDATE:
I removed the DVD/CDRW drive and it seems to work fine now.... I tried several powerups and downs and it is fine! Have anyone seen this error appear in connection with the optical drive?
