T43 BIOS & Latest T42 7200RPM Drive

I recently purchased a lot of Lenovo badged HTS721060G9AT00 FRU P/N: 39T2560 hard disks. They were manufactured in late 2007 and thus the IBM firmware check predates these drives by a couple of years. I am wondering since these are in fact Lenovo drives (intended for T42/p machines) are they compatible with the latest factory T43/p BIOS? I rifled through the T43/p drive sticky and the Thinkwiki but have not found a satisfactory answer to my question. Anyone like to tackle this? Thanks.

Well, the obvious solution would probably be to actually try one of these HDD's in a T43/p, but you've no doubt already thought of that yourself! If you however don't have any T43/p yourself, perhaps some forum-friend nearby you (in NY/NJ?) would be able to step in and assist for a quick test? I know that e.g. forum-member Brad has T43's, but there are probably many other ThinkPad'ers in NY (serach the forum for "T43" + "NY"? and PM some?).

If you have purchased these HDD's to sell to ThinkPad-users, I would be very happy to help you with "getting rid of" a few of these HDD's...

I can confirm that HTS721060G9AT00 60.0GB drive is fully compatible with T43/T43p model.

I have a drive like the ones you're referring to working in my "main" T43 with no issues, it is stamped Dec 07.
