T42p LCD assembly in a T43p? Disaster?

#1 Post by 91011 » Thu Mar 19, 2009 9:58 am

Just picked up a nice T43p with VGA output but no LCD image, not even a faint image. I also have a working T42p LCD assembly with a sick MB. Can I install the T42p entire LCD lid on the T43p without damaging any components on either machine? Obviously both LCDs are 1600x1200. The T42p is a 2374-D03 and the T43p is a 2668-H2U.

Thanks,
John

This is a direct swap. Good luck.

Thanks HarryC, did the swap out Friday and now have the T43p I've been lusting after. Found the T4x series LCD asembly to be much easier to work on than the T30. Also swapped the inverters and found the inverter in the 'bad' assembly to be working. Guess I have a dead backlight to go with the bad GPU - the Superior reball attempt didn't fix it. Thanks again.
