CardBus has quite a few uses. Because of the higher bandwidth over PCMCIA and the fact that CardBus is 32 bit, all the Wireless G cards and all the firewire and usb cards for laptops require cardbus. It is also nice for adding a network card or modem. Basically, CardBus and PCMCIA are there for expansion. And just for anyone wondering, any slot that can take a 32bit CardBus card can also take a 16bit PCMCIA card, but 16bit PCMCIA slots can NOT take 32bit CardBus cards.

Other uses for Cardbus...

- Firewire. Attach video cameras, external hard drives, etc.
- SCSI. Attach tape drives, WORMs, etc.
Apathy is on the rise, but nobody seems to care.
