Shortfan on T42 models (2373-M1U)?

I'm interested in that model and i read that this model
has the old short fan built in?

Can somebody confirm this?
Is the short fan really that bad? (regarding fan often turns on)

wrong, it has the Fan Assembly Long M10 unit
