Who was the recommended seller on eBay for T40 batteries?

There was a seller that some people suggested who was offering low cycle T40 batteries on eBay. I have been searching the forums here for his name, and I came up with "RRR", but that user doesn't sell batteries. Does anyone know what their user ID is? I'd appreciate a name or link. It's for a 2373-7CU (in keeping on track for this forum's topic.)

Don't know, but your best bet for T4x batteries is the Lenovo "scratch and dent" store!

When I was hunting for batteries I missed the last scratch & dent sale at Lenovo-but the T40 batteries were back on their site last night. The ebay seller I saw referenced in someone else's note on this forum was RRRenterprises-you can pull up his store from Ebay. I did not order from him-found a good deal here on the forum from HarryC! If you don't mind the added weight of 9 cell, the outlet is currently selling it for less than $50.

I bought a 4 cell scratch and dent for my T400, and it has only 1 cycle with first usage date within a month.

Size and battery time.

9 cell sticks out at the back of the laptop, 6 cell is flushed. 9 cell battery time last around 1.5 time as the 6 cell.

VFR_firefly, saw the link this morning. What I meant in asking for the spec.'s is how many mAH is the battery? Notice Lenovo does not list it on their web page!

I have two 9-cell batteries here, one is 9-cell knock-off and it's 10.8v 6600 mAh. The other 9-cell is an actual Lenovo which is a 10.8v 7.2AH.

What are the spec's on the one Lenovo sent you?

I've tried to search the part number on the Lenovo site and there is nothing on it. I'm thinking that this might be some sort of odd experimental battery since that number doesn't exist. I'll report more on it when I get it in my little hand.

The picture they have on the site next to the 9-cell battery looks like a 6-cell battery to me as well.

Either way, it's an awesome battery price. If still at 85% of the original strength I'll be happy. Right now I've got a 45% 6-cell battery and it really doesn't cut it for what I want to do with it. I might end up rebuilding it once I have a spare (kind of hard to go without a battery in the laptop as even the slightest bump might cause a reboot), or maybe trying my luck with batteryrefill.com again. I had a lot of good luck with them in the past but I hear they've been having some real issues the last year or so.

Lenovo's 6 cell batteries for the T4x were either 4.4AH or 4.8AH, and the 9-cells either 6.6AH or 7.2AH, respectively.

It seems that in the times of the T40-T42, 4.4AH/6.6AH was deemed sufficient, but when the T43 came out, it used more juice, so they boosted the battery capacity a bit, and new batteries came out with 4.8AH/7.2AH. The ratings in the T40-T42 and T43 HMMs indicate so. Or it could be that the technology simply improved, which allowed them to cram more capacity into the same battery size.

Of course, all batteries are completely interchangeable in any T4x/R5x. I here have a T42 with an "old generation" 4.4AH 6-cell battery. Chances are that any new genuine Lenovo battery will be 4.8/7.2AH, although one cannot be 100% sure.

Now, with a T60, the capacities were boosted further, to 5.2AH/7.8AH for 6 an 9-cells, respectively.

It just has to do with the quality of cell you bought. I'm guessing the price of higher capacity cells just dropped and it was either cheaper or the same price to buy higher cap.
