Any way to change resolution on boot screen

#1 Post by Cneil » Thu Jan 27, 2005 9:38 pm

Sorry for the silly question, but is there any way to change to a higher resolution for the initial boot screens - the hard drive password screen and the windows xp screen (the one with the moving blue bars)? When my machine was new, the screens booted in high resolution with smaller images and lots of empty space. Now they boot "stretched" to full screen, which I don't like. Thanks in advance.

Great, the "Scale image to panel size" works fine! may i get, through disabling this function, some other unwanted effects?

another question: i do use the ibm windowxs xp prof., but the boot-logo only shows that normal windows xp logo, without the professionell.
friends of mine do also have xp prof. and they do have the prof-logo.

is it possible to change to the volitional logo??

Microsoft have decided to remove the word "Professional" in Service pack 2. You won't live without the word "professional" don;t you?

At least you have the blue bar that indicates the "professional" version, the home has the green (which I don't like)

But that doesn't work all the time, I noticed, it works ''till the Windows Logo appears.

Thanks. All your comments worked on the windows xp boot screen. Is there anyway to extend this higher resolution to the prior screen, the one with the ibm and intel centrino logos?

I always used the ThinkPad Configuration program and enabled "Expanded Screen," and this changed the boot up screen to full screen. If I wanted the smaller screen at boot-up, I just disabled Expanded Screen." Maybe we're not talking about the same thing here? Anyway, I was surprised that this option wasn't offered in the other's answers here.
