Palmrest on a t43p 15"

I just bought a t43p 15" tp from ebay and noticed it didn't have a fingerprint reader. I don't have it yet so I can't give you the model number. Aside from that, I have read many postings about upgrading the palmrest to use the fingerprint reader. But I don't recall any mention of the 15" models.

Question is, is there a size difference of the palmrest between the 14.1" and the 15" models? Thanks.

Well, of course there would be a difference. It's a physically different machine!

But actually things are more interesting. The 15" T4x models don't have a palmrest at all. In the sense that they don't have a separate "palmrest" part. Instead, the keyboard bezel is one piece. So if you want to upgrade, you need a 15" T42/T43 keyboard bezel with a fingerprint reader.

The metal Ultrabay cage under the KB bezel is different also. The finger print reader version cage has a depression on top.

Sounds like more trouble than it's worth to change that much around - unless someone has already done it and knows it's pretty easy.

actually, this only took 5 minutes to change over. The cage was allready made to accept the reader. I installed the software and everything worked perfect. Thanks for the help.
