I recently had to swap T42's and with the current machine I noticed a few strange changes (although, from my understanding the machine is exactly identical in configuration, 2379DXU. )
for example, on the first T42 I used to have some "intel or ibm connection 2200 (?) manager icon for the wireless that used to conflict from time to time with the ms-wireless software. I eventually fixed it the conflict by fiddling with it and generaly it behaved noticeably better than the MS-wireless (faster connection, etc.). But this icon and any mention of the software does not appear on the new T42. is it possible that the first t42 came with some extra software? i assumed they ship with identical HDD images? any ideas anyone? thanks in advance
