The Right Memory Module

#1 Post by sagara » Fri Jan 28, 2005 6:28 am

Hi, I'm thinking of adding more memory to my T41, and there are a few 512MB modules on ebay (UK) - does the manufacturer make for a difference? There are some by Micron, Centron, Hynix, Integral - I only know Kingston and Crucial are OK.

Thanks,

Robert

most seem to prefer Crucial, although if you get a good return policy in the case of a defect, and good warranty (for at least as long as you plan to keep your laptop), any should do...

I personally like IBM factory, Crucial, and Kingston. I actually just upgraded to (2) 1GB PC2700 SODIMMs in my T42P and would be happy to sell you my IBM factory (Samsung) 512MB PC2700 SOIDMMs for $60 each plus shipping. Let me know (jcentrel@gmail.com). Either way, I think you would be ok with Kingmax memory as well. I wouldn't go with Legacy or any other generic and off brand memory.
