New hard drive data point

#1 Post by mdarnton » Fri Jan 28, 2005 9:00 am

I just switched my 40Gb drive with 1 GB drive for an 80Gb drive. The "new" computer, T41 2378DHU, appears to be working much more quickly. the interesting thing here is that the old drive was a 5400rpm drive, and I believe the new one is 4700rpm. I did the switch by cloning, so theoretically the layout is the same.

Interesting.... any ideas why?

I think the point of the more speed is you probbably have more cache than before.
IBM ThinkPad R51 1829-DRG
Intel P-M 1500 MHz
768 MB RAM
