Thinkpad T43p, Linux and DVI at 1600*1200

I can't find any clear information about connecting a T42p (2373) with Linux to a flat panel display using the dock II for DVI at 1600*1200. IBM says it's not possible, but I find posts saying it is if you get the right driver... But most posts are talking Windows.

It would be a waste of money to buy the dock if it won't work with the display at 1600*1200.

I see no reply in this thread but just wondering if you were able to configure external display through dock using dvi out,

No, before buying the dock, I need to be sure it will be useful. I was hoping to get some information here, but so far, nothing.

The hardware can do it. Read the docs on the ATI linux driver from their site and it should let you know if it can do it.
