T22 LCD problem

#1 Post by callicles » Fri Jan 28, 2005 11:50 am

Hi,

I purchased a refurbished T22 from Ebay, and after using it for 2 days these strange lines began appearing. The lines are dotted, are approximately 2 inches in length and appear to be worse on greens and blues than other colors. They seem to sprout from whatever graphics are on the screen, so each icon has all of these trails, as does the background, etc. They also shimmer a bit, especially when the mouse is moved.

The problem doesn't seem to be the graphics card, as the display is fine on an external monitor and none of the problems show up on screenshots.

I sent the laptop back, and they were able to repair it, but the problem reappeared after 2 days of use.

I'm more interested in fixing this myself than sending it back again, and since they were able to repair it, it seems like it wouldn't be a terribly complicated problem. Could it be a loose cable? Maybe a cable just needs to be replaced?

Any help?

Thanks....

It sounds like the LCD. :(

Some bad sellers will actually stick something behind the LCD (sometimes when an LCD has lines applying pressure to some of the electronics will make the lines temporarily go away)...

W/out seeing it I can only guess and there is a tiny chance it could be the LCD cable.
