Urgent: recovery CD for T42p

Hallo,

I've just made a recovery cd set with the program in the Access IBM menu. It made 7 disks, but somewhere in the forum I read that the CDs should be 1 + 7 where the single CD is R&R. Isn't it??
If this is the case, why the program made 7 CDs?
Where can I download R&R?

Plese help me!! C.

How many recovery CDs you can get really depends on the model of your thinkpad. Mine is 2373KTU which has only Windows XP SP1 installed, therefore I only have 1+6 recovery CDs. However, if you have a newer model T42/T42p which comes with SP2, you might need one additional CD for that extra SP2.

I have the 2373HTG bought around November 2004. Maybe SP1.
Anyway, somebody here said to download the newer R&R from tpdrivers.com
but how can I use it WITH my recovery CD??

the rescue and recovery cd is the only bootable cd of the bunch, none of the recovery disks #1-7 are bootable.

first CD is Rescue and Recovery..
CD 1 thru 6 are the recovery CD's..
this is for XP SP-2..

Thanks everybody!!

I've just installed the full ITA preload from CDs (previously was AMERICAN).
Some days ago I noticed a failure in the WLan AND the Modem. I thought it depends on hardware problems so I called IBM and opened a call.
But yesterday a friends of mine bought a T42p in Italy so we made the CDs and I put them on my laptop.
NO MORE PROBLEMS AND SP2 INSTALLED!! Very nice!
