T43 power trouble afther screen change Need your help please

ello,
I changed the screen on a T43 today and now the computer will only power for 5 sec max and power off then i need to remove power from it to get it to power again for this 5 sec.The screen dont light at all.

If i connect it to external display it work prefect but if i enable LCD and external it fail again.

If it fail i have to remove all memeory and power it with no memeory wait the beep for memeory error then put memeory back and it will boot with external display again.

what can be bad ?? did i broke the display cable ??

What is the FRU or model number of the new screen? Was it new or used?

i dont have it now to tell you but i ordered it from screencountry.com and the laptop do this with the new screen the old one or no screen.

You might want to start by making sure you didn't reverse the LCD cables. Also check to see if they're pinched or damaged. Sure sounds like there is a short somewhere if it shuts down when the LCD is enabled.

Is it 14" SXGA+? If so, it will not work unless it has an IBM FRU number on it from T4x. They are wired differently and can damage your motherboard.

if the bad screen model damaged the board is it possible that it power off when it try to use the screen but work with VGA port ?

Give us the 7-character TYPE from the back of the laptop please (looks like e.g. 1871-FWG), as well as the already asked part numbers of the old AND the new LCD. And also include the part numbers you can find on the LCD cable.
