But do we have definite information that the X300 is not DL-DVI capable?

ah yes, there are many posts here (on this forum) by people that confirm that they need to use reduced blanking on X300 models to get WUXGA output through DVI. The T43 X300 models definitely use a 165MHz TDMS.

Oh, and here's a link to thinkwiki's page about this 165MHz TDMS issue. However, it does not contain very detailed information about the presence of either a higher frequency-capable TDMS in the T41p, T42p and T43p or if DL-DVI is present.

I just brought an IBM ThinkPad T43 2686-M7U on ebay two weeks ago. I love this machine because I'd previously use IBM ThinkPad 600E for over three years.

I've been an IBM ThinkPad user since 1999. My first ThinkPad is 760EL, the second one is 760XD (no I don't have the particular machine that flew in space inside the NASA space shuttle), then 600E, and currently T43.

My T43 I brought originally on ebay have 80GB hard drive, 1GB of RAM (memory), DVD burner, no AC power adapter. I will pick up the adapter today because I brought it on ebay few days ago and I recently upgraded the T43's memory to 2GB of RAM because someone gave me a 1GB DDR2 SODIMM while back.

Right now I as typing, I using dual monitors on my T43 15" inch display along with the Envision EN-5100 15" inch LCD monitor (also I have an Envision EN-7100si 17" inch LCD monitor, too).

How cool is that? Once you use dual monitor display, you never go back to single monitor display. It has a S-video cable port I can hook the T43 to the TV but I probably use it later on down the road.
