Please, help me to buy t42!

I have a chance to buy t42 from my friend rather cheap. I know that the ser# is 9936dya and the model name is 2374-a60. Where can I find the full spec about the t42 using the ser# and the model#? Can someone suggest me the web site where I can receive all possible information about the model?

Have another question. The guy who wants to sell the t42 does not have the warranty book. That computer was bought Sept, 2004. Will I still have the 3-years warranty without the proper documentation?

Yes it will still maintain it's warranty 3yr or 1yr.
If you can get the exact model number and serial you can look up the warranty info through the link below

IBM is very civilized about warranties and the coverage stays with the machine, no "book" required.

Go here: http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site. ... arranty.vm plug in the model and serial numbers where indicated and you'll get an immediate readout of the machine's warranty status.

I've already looked up your machine and the warranty expires 2007-10-03.
