T4x keyboard compatibility

Hello,
i'd like to replace the keyboard in a T40 (14.1") because the markings on some keys have worn off. Shipping times are said to be within 4 weeks.

For most language layouts of 14.1" T43 keyboards, the T43 Hardware Maintenance Manual (HMM) shows two NMB FRUs, one ALPS FRU and two Chicony FRUs. For most language layouts, one of the NMB FRUs and one of the Chicony FRUs also appear in the T40-T42 Hardware Maintenance Manual as FRUs for these older models. So T40-T42 keyboards can be used in T43 14.1" models.

Additionally, for most language layouts of 14.1" T43 model keyboards, there are one NMB FRU, one ALPS FRU and one Chicony FRU, which are only listed in the T43 HMM and not in the T40-T42 HMM. These FRUs seem to be exclusively for T43 systems. Many of these keyboards, which seem to be only for T43 models, will ship immediately. As i don't want to have to wait up to four weeks for a keyboard replacement, i'm considering getting such a T43 keyboard, which seems to be only for T43 models, and to put it in a 14.1" T40 notebook. Does anyone here know whether such keyboards, which are not listed in the T40-T42 HMM but are listed in the T43 HMM, will fit T40 ThinkPads and are compatible with T40 ThinkPads?
