Looking at Microsoft article "Availability of the Windows XP SP1 USB 1.1 and 2.0 Update", it's full of if's and maybe's about USB 2.0 devices, and offers an update to cure a whole lot of general USB problems.

So I guess 2.0 devices are supposed to work with SP1 but may be fairly buggy.

Are you asking this because you've installed XP via Rescue and Restore which only gives you SP SP1?

If so I strongly suggest you grab SP2 and SP3 updates to be fully protected against XP vulnerabilities.

You'll need to use winrar or a similar program to decompress the SP3 .iso file into a directory on your TP before clicking on the setup.exe file (or does it install as a .iso when the PC is booted from a CD?)

I've used both Service Packs on numerous T4x's with no problems.
