HELP ! Should I pay $1100 for this IBM system ?

I'm looking up an IBM system for myself now,and do you think I should be paying $1100 for such a system ? And a Port replicator + a Laptop Bag

The specs go on as :

Processor: Pentium M 1.5 ghz with 1 mb level 2 cache
Ram: 512 mb
Screen/video: 14.1", 32 mb ATI Radeon 7500
Hard Drive: 30 gig
Optical: DVD/CDRW - this has been upgraded from standard DVD
Integrated wireless, network card, modem


Also,if i do decide I have to change the HDD,is it that tough ? But first things first,is this price ok for such a system ? If not,what do you think is the ideal price ?

New or used? If it's for brand new with full 3-year warranty, $1100 is sort of at the upper limit of reasonable. If it's used, I think you can do much better. If you are patient you can sometimes find a nice used T40p for right around that price.

i found a T40 on ebay with

PM 1.5
40GB HDD (read my next post... it might not be 40GB)
DVDROM/CDRW
14.1" screen
RAEDON 7500 (probably 32mb)

and an external floppy and minidock all for $930 on ebay (in perfect condition, too ) . It wasn't really my first choice of where to look, but watch out of those IBM Factory Recertified (or whatever it is)... they tag on enormus tax and enormus shipping )

what model #?

whether new or used the notebook appears to be a year or more old. is the battery the origional one? if so you may need a new one sooner rather than later. $1100 seems high.
