T43 wireless encryption problem

#1 Post by miketoro » Sat May 16, 2009 9:42 am

My sister’s T43 1871-C1U is having wireless issues.

It can connect to an unencrypted network fine -- wireless b -- but errors when trying to get on my parents’ 64-bit WEP network with a Linksys BEF11S4 v.2 router. Most of the time it is a simple “Limited or no connectivity” exclamation mark. The two other Thinkpads in the house, a T61 and X30, can connect to the encrypted network fine.

The T43 is running XP. The drive has been restored to the factory settings. All the drivers have been updated thru the Lenovo site.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Are you using Access Connections or Windows?

Do you have a firewall? Have you tried turning it off to connect?

The more information you can provide, the easier it will be to find the cause of the problem.

That was easy.

Dropped the firewall and viola!

Many thanks :thumbs-UP:
