Left click suddenly stopped working

#1 Post by raptorhertz » Tue May 19, 2009 6:53 am

I have a T43, It has completed more then 2.5 yrs and is out of warranty, Yesterday night suddenly the left click stopped working where as the right click is working fine.The left and right click above the touchpad are working fine though.
What should I do to correct this problem?(I know there are other alternatives like using the left click above the touchpad or USB mouse, but i can stand a nonworking left key,I have to set it right)
Plz suggest

This button is part of the touch pad assembly screwed on to the palm rest. You can replace these pretty easily and palm rest are plentiful.

These two buttons along with the touch pad as an assembly is attached to the palm rest by 4 screws. Do a search for "T40 palm*".

You would be better off finding one locally. When I sell the touchpad and buttons (not the palmrest), it is only a $3 part, but shipping to India at least is 4 times the price of the part.

@richk,
Shipping cost is not an issue, I'll pay what ever is the cost+shipping.
But I want to ensure that changing the button would solve the problem.What would be cost of touchpad assembly along with buttons.

All the electronics are in the touchpad. The rest of the palmrest is just plastic stuff. I need to know if you have 14" or 15" and whether or not you have fingerprint. If you want to discuss buying, you need to use a PM or move to marketplace section.

Yes, and they are far more available not to mention much less expensive.
