new/old T43 doubts /plz help

Hello !

I'm new to this forum, so hello everybody. Yesterday I bought a second-hand t43 2669 COT. I choosed to upgrade RAM and now my notebook can see 2,5GB in BIOS but only 2GB in Win XP and during posting memory check procedure. My question sounds if there is any way to make OS to correctly report 2,5GB RAM (theoretically intel 915 chipset can use only 2GB but I've seen many t43s offers with even 3GB RAM - how it's possible ?)

Another question - when opening or closing LCD I can hear a creaking sound somewhere near the left hinge (probably it is a graphic card to LCD cable/tape on the right hand of that hinge). Is there something I can do about that?

First Question - Ans. - The T4X machines don't recognize/run on more than 2GB RAM. There is no way to change that. The T43 offers are BS. No way they are running more than 2GB RAM andf having it all used/recognized by an OS.
Second Question - Ans. - The only way to fix the problem with the hinges is to replace them.

My English is not poor but I do not get it... T43 can or cant utilize more then 2GB RAM?. Above answer isn't clear for me
