T43 Recovery Errors (Wrong Disk #2 of 6)

I purchased some recovery disks for my thinkpad t43. I got 8 cds. I have a 2687-D4u T43.

1 rescue and recovery cd
1 supplemental cd (didn't work)

and

6 Product Recovery Disks.

The rescue and restore disk worked great when it asked for the supplemental cd it didn't work. I skipped it and went on to the Product Recovery disks. The first disk 1 of 6 worked great. The second disk 2 of 6 won't do anything I get wrong disk error.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Where did you get the CD's, and has the set been tested to work? There are a few things that can cause this issue, but since it sounds like at least (2) discs are problematic. I'd guess that the discs themselves are bad. Does this machine boot up ok with say an OEM XP installation DVD?

I bought the laptop from the marketplace it came with Windows 7 on it. It was working great. I purchased the recovery disks from a fellow board member. They were copies. The hard drive in the machine is not the original it is a Fujitsu (MHV2060AH) 60 GB HD. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It is most likely copies of bad factory burns, or just bad copies. I have a factory set of T42 disks that all work except for disc 2. There are no scratches on the disk, however several files at the end of the list could not be read. I had to make another copy of that disc using another source.

I have the same problem. Disc 1 of 6 works fine, but when I put in disc 2 it says it's not the correct disc. I just created the Recovery Discs through Windows XP, and now I can't factory restore the laptop.....
