I see no drawbacks to my T41. Mind you, I changed the hard drive to a 7200-rpm model, and upgraded the CPU to a 1.8GHz Dothan. No drawbacks at this point. ... JD Hurst

I have a T41p and see no drawbacks... I was more than happy with my old T30, and only ever wished for a better video card (it had a 16MB Radeon). The T41p has a 128MB FireGL, which should last me til' the day the machine gives out.

We're now approaching the T43/p, the second generation to be released since my T41p, and I still see no big differences... New features and capabilities are what appeals to me in newer models, not marginal performence increases..

Aside from a fingerprint reader, nothing really changed. I still have a 6 hour battery, I still have 1GB of RAM (upgradable to 2GB), I still got the same 7200RPM hard drive, same screen and a 128MB video card. Sure the T43 has a faster FSB, slightly higher clock, DDR2, PCI Express, etc, but it's still not a worthy difference... Certainly nothing like the diffence between a T2x and T3x, or T3x and T4x.

I will be jealous the day I see a T with FireWire and a Windows key (or a touch sensitive OLED display, which would make me out-right wet my pants) :)
