Correct Part Number?

I just called in because my AC adapter stopped working... I've tested my laptop with another AC adapter (owned by a friend of mine with the same laptop) and it worked beautifully...

Anyways, when I called in they were (like always) beyond helpful. However, the guy never asked for the part number. When I inquired, he said that all the thinkpad AC adapters are the same...

Is this, indeed, true? So if I were to get a brand new one (which I'm assuming I will, since they probably don't have any refurbed adapters lying around) which was probably manufactured for a t42 or t43, it will work with my t40?

Bump...

I'm getting my AC adapter on Monday...just wanna make sure everything is a-ok before I plug it in ...don't want to blow up my baby (Thinkpad).

All AC adapters for T4x series have the same voltage/watt specifications.
