This T43 is a Type 1871-65U. We bought it last year from a used laptop dealer so we don't have orgonal discs. It has been back to the factory once under warranty for hard drive problems. Factory reinstalled OS and all Thinkpad software. OS is Win XP Pro SP3. It was running fine until July 4 when we got the followning error codes:
0x00000007B (0xBA4D3528, 0xC0000034, 0x00000000, 0x00000000)
I may have the number of zeros incorrect. Does this error mean I may have flaky hard drive and that I need to send laptop back for warranty service?
I am trying to rescue the data files we need. They are all on what us now drive E: as I suspect that my USB is now D:
I have a couple of spare Win XP Pro SP2 CD-ROMs from PCs that are now running Ubuntu. Should I try a repair from one of those CDs?
Thank you for reading about my troubles.
John
