Does anyone leave Speedstep at Maximum Power (when plugged in)?

Is this recommened?

I always leave mine on adaptive. I figure I'm paying such a high premium for the Pentium M technology. Might as well use it. ;)

I actually have it set to run as slow as possible unless I'm using it for games.

WinXP actually has the speedstep applet built into the OS. I'm actually not sure how you control it though...i'll have to look when I get home...

I use speedswitch XP and I have not had any issues at all. You can download it from here: http://www.diefer.de/speedswitchxp/.

Of course, use it at your own risk - For me, it works great and I can manually switch back on forth by right clicking the icon on the systray...

I have my computer set up to "Adaptive," however, I switch to full power once in a while when I think I can benefit from the extra second it takes to go from 599 MHz, to 1.6 GHz :)

How are you using speedstep to switch cpu speeds, I don't find that setting i nthe settings areas.

I leave mine in adaptive mode. No reason for the machine to eat more power than it needs to :)

I also use Speedswitch, its much better than the XP controls or even the IBM battery controls.
