T22 identify ethernet type

#1 Post by valley_hawk » Sat Feb 05, 2005 9:44 pm

Hello all,

I've just bought an T22 26474EG, pre loaded with XP (blughh!)

I've Installed win2k, and d/loaded the intel ether drives but am unable to ident the correct chipset. I picked the first one, and after about 2 hours it (the laptop) locks up. Don't know if its the driver or something else yet. I have just done a fresh install and will leave the ether bit until I know which driver to use, and monitor it. If someone can help me ident the chipset I'd appreciate it.

I'm reluctant to pull the cover off the '22 as it should still be under it's limited warranty from the seller (I've had it one day) should it transpire to be a cpu temperature problem.

I have done an extensive internet search and a good search on this forum, but I apologise if this is a repeat question... I couldn't find anything without looking at 1500+ posts!

Nice forum though

Thanks

Alan

Lock up can be anything ...

I assume you downloaded drivers from the above site? It seems that the only Intel Ethernet card that has windows driver for download is Intel PRO/100 SP Mini PCI combo card.

Did you install the following windows supplement for T22? IBM claims it resolves certain conflicts.

It might also be worth checking windows system log in Event Viewer.

yes, to both questions.... it's nothing to do with the ethernet, it's locked up again.

Don't you just hate it when you buy a new toy to play with and it turns out to be cr@p.

I'll spend the next week messing about posting it back etc...etc...etc...

Never mind

Thanks for the reply anyway

Alan
