Keyboard Question

#1 Post by JLai » Sun Feb 06, 2005 11:20 pm

I tried searching for this but couldn't find the answers.

I was wondering what the differences were in the thai keyboard Vs the china keyboard? Also, how do you know which keyboard you have?

Thanx ahead.

The difference is in feel and quality. The baseplate of the Thai keyboards are significantly thicker, giving the keys more support and less fle, resulting in surer, more quiet, and more confident typing. The feel of the keys is also snappier - more tactile feedback without requiring additional pressure.

The easiest way to tell historically is to shine a flashlight under your arrow keys - if the rubber domes are blue, that's a sign of a Thai keyboard. If they're gray, that's China:

The only sure-fire way is to remove the keyboard, flip it over, and look at the FRU - they're different between the Thai and China models.
