"Would warranty cover this" battery question

#1 Post by none » Mon Feb 07, 2005 1:08 am

Hey all, I am wondering if this would be covered under warranty... I just noticed that one of the corners of my T41p 9 cell is cracked. There is only one incident I can think of which could have caused this, the laptop slid off my bed about a month ago and dropped about 2ft onto the carpet. Didn't seem to be any damage, but I guess there was some after all... :(

Anyway, will IBM send me a new battery if I call them? And anything in perticular I should be asking for? I seem to recall it's the Sony batteries that can be wobbly... Which ones aren't, or are they all Sony?

I don't think that this is covered under the warranty. Unless you have purchased the accident protection plan.

sony battery's are better then sanyo's

I have a sanyo and that one sits very loose, how ever, I did had one with a sony, and that one never moved...

So the sanyo's are more lose then the sony's :)

(excuse my bad english, because I just woke up, and now I am sitting @ work crunching text :P)

If you do plan on getting it replaced, ask for the specific FRU of the Sony battery.
