XGA to SXGA+

#1 Post by bostonblackie » Wed Jul 29, 2009 11:57 am

I have to replace the screen on my 14" t42. As I search the ebay and post a WTB in this forum I got to thinking if it is possible to upgrade my broken XGA to SXGA+. Is it possible? beside the actual LCD screen what else do I need to consider?

It's not only possible, but relatively easy. Even I was able to do it a while back. You will need a SXGA+ LCD panel and the matching ribbon cable. Yes, the cable is different between XGA and SXGA+. Or just buy the complete lid from an SXGA+ machine, and swap lids. Even easier.
Collection = T500 - R400 - X300 - X200 - T61 (14" WXGA+) - T61 (14.1" SXGA+) - T60 (15" SXGA+) - X40 - T43p - T43 - T42p - A30P - 600E
