 Yep, looks like it got free ticket(s) to Kentucky FDA Customs. Hopefully there won't be another "Processing Error." Cross your fingers.

Ah mushrew we are joined together by the common bond of frustration and I-want-my-thinkpad syndrom.

The short answer to your question is -

Once UPS lays hands on it you will have no idea. Their internet package tracking is very inaccurate.

If you were to believe UPS's on-line tracking, my DYU made it all the way from China to the Kansas City, KS area last night! Shazam!

You DID factor the international dateline into your calculation, right?

Given that adjustment, your Thinkpad could leave Kowloon at 1:30PM and arrive in KC at 12:30PM (an hour before it left!) of the SAME DAY!

Given the past posts about the computers having to go through inspection during transit, it is reasonable to expect that mine would have had to do so. From the time that I received the shipping notice on 6/3 until today the computer was always shown to be in China. Only 1 of the 91 in the shipment ever indicated that it was in the U.S. until this morning. That computer was shown to be in Kentucky. This morning when I checked my computer location had changed from China to Kansas.

My question to you would be as follows:

Should I believe that on a 2 day shipment that took 5 days, my computer went from China to the delivery truck without stopping anywhere, as UPS indicated?

No. It almost certainly entered the US and cleared Customs in Anchorage before being sent onward.
