I'm in Australia right now, with my US ThinkPad... A few days ago I noticed a crack on my T41p battery. Also, the ] key felt like it's about to come right off the keyboard, which isn't very useful for programming(){}... I called up IBM Australia, asked them for a new battery (Sony 9 cell, same one as I had), and a new US keyboard (Thai model instead of my crippled Chinese one). Just got the parts overnight, about 24 hours since I called... Battery's sitting nice and tight. And yes, the Thai keyboard is superb compared to the Chinese one... Whole laptop feels more rugged now! Used to feel a tad more fragile than my T30, I assumed because it's so thin... Feels exactly as solid now though! I'm a happy outbacker
