Could you tell me the part number of new fan ?
I would like to replace the stock fan to the t41p fan.
If you use the New fan (13R2657), I will use too.
But if you use 13N5347, I cannot get the part from USA and KOREA...
Would you tell me the part number.

have a nice day ~ :)
I replaced my fan about half a year ago and it was 13N5347... I know there is no more this P/N as it was replaced by 13R2657. Unfortunatelly I do not have any information whether 13R2657 is the same as 13N5347...

I've a T42P, I've been having freezes because *supposedly* it's using another fan that was not meant to be installed on my machine.

On Monday I'll be sending the machine to change the fan.
I was having freezes because the GPU overheats.
Then what's the FRU of the T42p fan that should be installed in that model?

On my T42 (2373-4WU), the fan is constantly on with a pulsating, throbbing noise. Is this a BIOS problem or a fan problem?
Has IBM or Lenovo done anything to fix this issue? If not, Can folks here give me some ideas on how to deal with this problem?

Thanks

I`m having the same problem with the throbbing noise.
This is not an issue with the fan, but the software that controls Embedded Controller.
However Im still more concerned on fixing the overheating temp on my GPU:

Looks like there's probably a bad connection between the heatsink and the video card. Try and contact IBM for warranty support

An alternative solution might be to use the newest (not IBM supplied) ati drivers. They allow you to select the cooler operating mode for the video card even when under AC power, resulting in a cooler laptop (as long as you don't need the 3d functions, or for them to be fast rather)

which ati drivers are you refering to? the original one from ati website or the ati tool software? because i don't see where i can change for a cooler operating mode on the normal ati driver :?

Yes, I did.

3 weeks from today, a new fan/heatsink M24 LONG was fitted in my laptop. Also applied Arctic Silver 5 on both CPU/GPU.

The temperatures have dropped a little bit, as today I've applied for the 3rd time the grease, because I was not convinced with the results.

The temperatures also show the CPU and GPU running @ full power (without voltage change and GPU downclock)

Hopefully my system will run cooler, as nirvana posted that his T43p ran 39C when idle (still sceptical about that)
