Setting A Bios Password Via the OS!!!

#1 Post by timecmdr » Thu Feb 10, 2005 10:47 am

Hi All,

Does anyone know how to set a bios password via the system OS.

What I'm looking to do is send a script out to all thinkpads in our enterprise to set a bios password.

Thanks

Boy, if that weren't a hacker's dream come true. Talk about a gaping security hole that would be! Which is precisely why it probably can't be done.

It can be done on Dell's. It allows system admin to periodically change the bios passwords of their hardware to stop users from messing.

Anyone else got any ideas?
