LCD lid rigidity

had my 2373FVU for over a week, just recently i have discovered that if i press the lcd from the lid, i get a big bubble showing always around the same area, it goes away when i stop pressing, this only happens when i press one of my fingers on the left side. when i press my finger on the right half of the lcd lid, nothing happens. The right half of the lcd lid seems very rigid, while I can bend the left half a little. I read somewhere on the forum that TPs are supposed to be better than other brands in this area because the lid is very rigid, this is true on the right half of my lcd, but the left half is just like my 15'' powerbook g4

has anyone else noticed this as well?

I am not trying to cause any flame but why would you even press the lid to bend it?
To me the lid feel pretty solid. The screen stays solid to the metal hinges unlike power macs that wobble while I am typing. Even lifting up the laptop and shaking back and forth the lid stays solid without wobbling.

other users have noticed that if you park your truck on the T40 series lid, it will break..
and then you will need to use an external display..

i wasn't intentionally trying to bend it.

just that while i was pressing my fingers on the back lid and with my thumb on the side, it just bends due to the pressure i exerted with my fingers.

i was just trying to see if the screen does the same thing as other LCDs when i apply pressure on the lid

anyway, my t23 seems pretty resistant to pressure on the top lid, although when my friend was drumming on it pretty hard with his fingers I got a little freaked out, but nothing happened. The best bet is to never stack anything on top of your laptop, just in case a corner pushes down hard on one part of the screen. It'll be fine most of the time, but just always try to remember that it is a very sophisticated electronic device (and expensive!) and act accordingly.
