Pirates won't run on T42p

Thinking I would get something to showcase my new T42p (Q1U) I purchased Sid Meier's Pirates.

It doesn't run, all of the screens are a light blue wash, though something is happening because you can hear sounds!

Has anyone managed to coax this software into working on the FireGL chip, or do I wait for a patch from Firaxis (imminent I believe).

Any suggestions?

Updating the video drivers seemed to fix the problem. I had the previous release and the release notes only mentioned a fix for DVD playback.

However, installing them lets the game run. Cue lost productivity...
